"Here we are more than 40 years later with 18 injection machines," says Tamasovics, who holds a lot of memories of the family business that he grew up alongside. Before he was ten, he was already spending a lot of time at the shop and many a father-son moment was shared separating or packaging parts together over a pizza. "The business was really our life growing up," recalls Tamasovics, adding that there was never a summer, weekend or a March Break off. "It was tough not being able to enjoy vacations, but in the same token I appreciate what dad did for me because I was able to experience from the ground up how to run the business, and all the different variables of the company" For nearly all of its existence, JFJ has been a proud Tier 2 supplier to Chrysler, Ford and GM

The past more than forty years have seen JFJ physically expand their Oldcastle operation three different times, bringing it from roughly 15,000 sq. ft. to just shy of 50,000 sq. ft. They have also increased their capacity to make larger parts, such as bumpers. Once upon a time, the 500-tonne capacity press was JFJ's largest machine. Today, they have machines that are just under 2000-tonnes-tooling that is worth over one million dollars a piece. Looking towards the future, the JFJ family definitely wants to expand the business, as well as their product base. Tamasovics Jr. is proud of the reputation his father has built up for his sisters and himself, and is looking forward to the day when he can pass the family company down to his own kids. "I can't even explain how proud I am of my dad," he says. "Dad's philosophy was work, work, work. And the only way you're going to get somewhere is by a lot of Hard work. He's 100 percent right."
