Story By: Leah Behrens ("In Business" Magazine 2005)

John Tamasovics Sr. father of the JFJ's president John Tomasovics Jr., is also father to JFJ Mold Processors. Though he retired nearly four years ago, the founder is still active as company CEO, and holds shares with his wife Dorothy. Tamasovics Jr. took over his role as president, and sisters Paula Horvath and Suzanne Ujj work at and share ownership of JFJ also.

Like many of Windsor's early tool and mold shop entrepreneurs, John Sr. began his career in the trade working for International Tool Limited (ITL). He left to start up his own mold repair shop with two partners in 1964. For the first few years, they were the only employees, and specialized in benching and polishing. When one of JFJ's first customers offered the trio work in plastic injection molding, they made the investment to take the company in a new direction. Two machines were purchased to run the parts and were quickly booked solid. To meet demand, more machines were purchased-and JFJ hasn't looked back since.
